Our official Welcome to Country for SASP 2024 will be performed by Paul Girrawah House, a senior Ngambri-Ngunnawal custodian and Senior Community Engagement Officer at The Australian National University.
Following, we have a fantastic line up of symposia, individual presentations, blitz talks, posters,
and some really exciting plenary sessions. There is a record number of attendees (over 230) and speakers from over 40 institutions.
In place of keynotes, we have lined up two expert panel discussions on timely and significant topics: decolonisation in social psychology (Monday 25th of November, 4pm) and making an applied impact with our research (Tuesday 26th of November, 5pm). These are not to be missed!
In brief, the SASP 2024 conference includes:
- 24 November, Sunday: Pre-conferences.
- 25 November, Monday: Conference all day with OPRA presentations and panel session, and concluding with poster session, welcome drinks, and OPRA announcement. Post-grad dinner in the evening.
- 26 November, Tuesday: Conference all day including ECR Award and panel session. Conference dinner in the evening.
- 27 November, Wednesday: Conference half day, AGM, and post-conferences.

SASP-2024-Mini-ProgramConference dinners
The conference dinner will be held at Louie Louie @ Verity Lane Market on Tuesday 26th November evening. Tickets include arrival canapés, main meal, dessert, and 3hours of drinks. The “Full Package” includes house wines, beer, cider, ginger beer, and bubbles. The “Soft drink” package includes non-alco beer, mocktail, and a range of soda options.
The Postgrad Dinner will be held Monday evening, 25th November at Badger & Co.. Honours students are invited to attend the Postgrad dinner. Some welcome nibblies will be provided by SASP with the remainder of the night being a “pay your own way” design so you can decide how much you spend.

Gender and Sexuality
The SASP Gender and Sexuality Preconference (GASP) is to be held on Sunday 24th November 2024 from 1:00PM-4:30PM in the Haydon-Allen Building, Room G053.
The GASP will include research talks, panel discussions, and networking opportunities to help connect students and academics who conduct research related to gender and sexuality (and others who may be interested in joining).

Social identity in the workplace
The SASP Social Identity Preconference will be held Sunday 24th of November, 1300 to 1600 in the Haydon-Allen Building, Room G052.
This highly interactive workshop aims to explore the contemporary opportunities and challenges of applying social identity insights to organisational settings.

Upscaling environmental psychology
The SASP Environmental Psychology Postconference will be held Wednesday 27th November 2024, 1:30-5pm in the Marie Reay Teaching Centre, Room 5.02.
The post-conference will begin with a brief welcome address by Professor Iain Walker, talks by three keynote speakers, an afternoon tea, lightning talks, and facilitated discussion. The post-conference aims to advance conversations in environmental psychology, facilitate the sharing of research problems, and develop a small research group/collective.

Abstract requirements
We are welcoming presentations in four formats:
- Poster presentations
- Data blitz presentations (5-minute talk with shared question time at the end of the session)
- Individual presentations (10-minute presentation with 5 minutes for questions)
- Symposium (4 presentations, one of which can be a discussant, each with a 10 + 5-minute timeslot)
When you submit your abstract, you will be asked to indicate your first preference presentation format, as well as other presentation formats you would be open to accepting.
Abstracts can be a maximum of 250 words.
Please note that you can only submit one abstract as a first/presenting author, but you can be a co-author on multiple presentations. You can also be a discussant in one symposium and a presenting author in another. If you are chairing a symposium, then you must submit the presentation titles and details of presenting authors for all of the papers in that symposium.
