SPSP pre-conference on “LGBTIQ+ Research Across the Globe”

Submissions are sought for the SPSP pre-conference on “LGBTIQ+ Research Across the Globe”, featuring global scholars from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Oceania, & North America.

The LGBTIQ+ Research Preconference is dedicated to the study of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics. It provides a forum for scholars doing research on these topics across the globe to present new findings, discuss future directions, and consolidate and extend their scholarly networks.

Our preconference is guided by three themes:

  • Diversity of research methodologies and approaches
  • Differences in socio-political climate between and within countries/regions
  • Differences between the experiences and priorities of various subgroups within the LGBTIQ+ community, including acknowledging individuals’ multiple group memberships) laying the groundwork for cross-national research projects.

Given that international and minority scholars are underrepresented within science, we aim to increase the representation in geographical locations and social categories across speakers and attendees.
