Website blurb

This pre-conference will bring together researchers working across social, developmental, and family psychology to explore how people develop within their social worlds. Topics may include social cognition, language and socialisation, parent–child processes, socio-emotional development, peer relationships, identity, belonging, and related areas of social developmental science.

The program will include an invited mini-keynote, lightning presentations, a panel discussion, and opportunities for informal networking. A central goal is to connect social psychologists with developmental interests and developmental psychologists whose work is centrally social, while supporting mentorship, collaboration, and visibility across career stages. Researchers and students at all career stages are warmly invited to attend.

We hope the event will strengthen an Australasian community of researchers working at this intersection and create pathways for continued collaboration and field-building beyond SASP 2026.
