SASP 2026 Abstract Submission

The annual SASP conference is one of the foremost venues for the dissemination of social psychological research within Australasia. We welcome submissions reflecting the diversity of social psychology, including theoretical, methodological, and applied research, and encourage participation from researchers at all career stages.

Abstract Submissions

We are inviting submissions for the following presentation formats:

Symposia

  • Symposia should demonstrate conceptual, theoretical, or methodological coherence and provide opportunities for integrated discussion.
  • Three-to-five individual papers should be presented within 50 minutes, including time for questions from the audience.
  • All submission should have:
    • One overall symposium abstract, and
    • One abstract for each presenter 

Presentation

  • 10 minutes presentation 
  • Standard papers typically report completed empirical research, theoretical contributions, or applied work.

Blitz Talks

  • 5 minutes presentation, with question time at the end of the blitz block
  • Blitz talks are well suited to preliminary findings, novel ideas, or concise methodological or theoretical contributions.

Posters

  • Poster sessions will be held during the conference
  • Posters may present completed projects, work in progress, or exploratory research, and provide an opportunity for interactive discussion
  • Poster dimensions and display requirements will be provided closer to the conference

All abstracts should be 200 words or less. Due to limited space in the program, each presenter may submit only one abstract.

Key Dates

  • Preconference proposals submission close: June 29th
  • Abstract submissions close: July 13th
  • Notification of acceptance: Late August
  • Early-bird registration deadline: October 1st
  • Registration deadline: November 16th
