We are happy to announce the availability of two new postdoctoral positions (Level A or B) from the Office of National Intelligence to lead a research program on radicalisation and misogyny among young Australians. Each position is for two years. Successful applicants will work with a research team including Profs Tegan Cruwys, Kate Reynolds, Michael Platow, Cath Haslam and Alex Haslam. One position will be based at the ANU and the other at the University of Melbourne.
We are looking for applicants with a PhD in intergroup relations and/or prejudice/discrimination. Experience applying social identity principles to gender, mental health, or in educational contexts would be a strength. Australian citizens, permanent residents, and NZ special category visa holders are eligible.
More information, including the project proposals, are available on GrantConnect: https://www.grants.gov.au/Go/ViewDocuments?GoUuid=1e4ac0bc-5059-46d2-9f5b-f89146c5fa2b. We strongly encourage interested applicants to get in contact with a member of the research team so that we can support you in the application process (which includes preparing a short proposal and budget for submission to the funder).
In addition, we have a Level A postdoctoral position available at ANU on a project in collaboration with the ACT government on the ACT Wellbeing Framework (led by Tegan Cruwys and Kate Reynolds). This role is for 18 months in the first instance. The project seeks to link large datasets across multiple agencies to tackle big questions about how policy can support wellbeing, particularly for young people. This position would best suit an early career researcher with a background of using social and/or psychological theory to study health or education, experience managing big datasets, and/or partnering with external stakeholders in their research. This role is open to international applicants and visa sponsorship may be possible for outstanding applicants.
