A team of researchers at the University of Queensland is conducting a meta-analysis on the relationship between objective and subjective measures for capturing different forms of prosocial and proenvironmental behavior.
Having completed our review of the published literature, we are now seeking to incorporate unpublished data.
We are interested in data from any study that includes both a subjective and an objective measure of one of the following behaviors:
- Charitable giving (donations of money by individuals to non-kin others)
- Volunteering (donations of time)
- In-kind giving (donations of things)
- Blood and organ donation (donations of body parts or fluids)
- Collective action participation (e.g., petition signing, rally attendance)
- Proenvironmental behaviors (e.g., recycling, reusing bags, reducing energy consumption)
By subjective we mean that the behavior is self-reported by the participant. This includes measures such as intentions, willingness, likelihood, and self-reported past behavior.
By objective we mean that the actual behavior is captured in some way. This may involve field research where the behavior is observed, studies that include information from organizational databases, or survey studies that capture the actual behavior in some way.
Please email Tracy Schultz () if you have unpublished data that includes both a subjective measure AND an objective measure of any of the prosocial and proenvironmental behaviors listed above.
Thank you in advance,
