What is the purpose of this scheme?
The Early Career Researcher (ECR) Small Grants Scheme supports research into the causes, the histories and the effects of ethnic, cultural, religious and sexual bigotry and animosity. Research that explores how such intolerance can be combatted is also supported.

Am I eligible to apply for funding?
Applications are open to ECR and PhD scholars working in Australian tertiary institutions, as well as public sector employees, community sector employees and people undertaking private research.
How much can I apply for?
Applicants can apply for a maximum of $5000.
What kinds of research costs are covered by the grant?
Applications can be made to assist research in a number of way! s, including the following:
- Travel (archival work, field work)
- Conference attendance
- Research assistance
- Administrative assistance
- Equipment
- Child care costs
- Teaching relief
